This Pet Marketplace Policy is provided by Liztd Inc. and applies to users accessing Liztd services in India. Liztd is committed to promoting responsible pet ownership, ethical treatment of animals, and compliance with applicable Indian laws and animal welfare regulations.

By using the Liztd Pet Marketplace, users agree to comply with this Policy, Liztd Terms of Use, and all applicable laws governing the sale, adoption, transfer, and care of animals.

Compliance with Indian Laws

Users must comply with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations relating to animals and pet ownership in India, including but not limited to:

  • Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960
  • Wildlife Protection Act, 1972
  • Rules and regulations issued by the Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI)
  • State and local municipal laws governing pet ownership, breeding, transport, and sale
  • Any licensing or registration requirements applicable to breeders, sellers, or shelters
Ethical and Responsible Listings

All pet listings must:

  • Include accurate and truthful information regarding breed, age, vaccinations, health condition, and temperament
  • Use authentic and recent photos of the animal being listed
  • Clearly disclose known medical conditions or special care requirements
  • Avoid misleading, exaggerated, or unverifiable claims
  • Promote humane treatment and responsible ownership
Prohibited Animals and Activities

The following are strictly prohibited on Liztd:

  • Sale or transfer of endangered, protected, or prohibited wildlife species
  • Illegal breeding operations or puppy mills
  • Sale or transfer of animals for fighting, abuse, experimentation, or unlawful purposes
  • Listings involving cruelty, neglect, exploitation, or inhumane treatment
  • Sale of animals prohibited under Indian law or local regulations
  • Animal trafficking or smuggling activities
  • Fraudulent pet listings or fake adoption schemes
Breeders and Sellers

Breeders and sellers using Liztd are responsible for:

  • Maintaining all required licenses, permits, and registrations
  • Complying with applicable breeding and welfare regulations
  • Ensuring humane housing, transportation, and care of animals
  • Providing accurate ownership and vaccination documentation where applicable
  • Following all local and state-level legal requirements
Buyer Responsibilities

Users purchasing or adopting animals through Liztd should:

  • Conduct independent verification of sellers and listings
  • Request medical, vaccination, or ownership documentation where applicable
  • Ensure they are legally permitted to own the animal
  • Provide safe and humane living conditions for pets
  • Report suspicious or unlawful activity to Liztd
Platform Role and Disclaimer

Liztd Inc. operates solely as a marketplace platform facilitating user-generated listings.

Liztd:

  • Does not own, inspect, certify, transport, or take custody of animals listed on the platform
  • Does not guarantee the health, legality, safety, temperament, or authenticity of listed animals
  • Is not responsible for disputes, transactions, losses, injuries, or damages arising between users
  • Encourages users to exercise caution, due diligence, and responsible judgment
Reporting Violations

Users may report listings or activities that appear unlawful, abusive, fraudulent, or harmful to animals using Liztd reporting tools or by contacting support.

Liztd reserves the right to investigate reports and take appropriate action, including:

  • Removing listings
  • Suspending or terminating accounts
  • Cooperating with law enforcement or regulatory authorities where legally required
Enforcement

Liztd Inc. may remove or restrict any listing that violates this Policy, platform standards, or applicable laws without prior notice.

Repeated or severe violations may result in permanent account suspension or legal escalation.

Liability Limitation

By using the Pet Marketplace, users acknowledge and agree that Liztd Inc. is not liable for:

  • Transactions or disputes between buyers and sellers
  • Misrepresentation or inaccurate information in listings
  • Health, behavior, or suitability of animals
  • Violations of applicable laws committed by users
  • Any damages, injuries, losses, or claims arising from use of the platform
Policy Updates

Personals Section

The Personals section is designed for personal connections but requires strict adherence to safety standards and legal compliance:

  • All content must comply with the Allow States and Victims to Fight Online Sex Trafficking Act (FOSTA) and the Stop Enabling Sex Traffickers Act (SESTA).
  • Prohibited activities include solicitation, trafficking, harassment, or other illegal conduct.
  • Liztd Inc. employs automated and manual moderation tools to detect and address violations.
  • Users can report violations via our reporting system.

Liztd Inc. disclaims liability for user-generated content but will take necessary action, including notifying law enforcement, when violations are identified.
